4th Annual Plant Sale

Plants, Parish & a Power Pole. How can a Church plant sale contribute to a Parish’s pastoral plan? How can it build community? How can it teach us to be Missionaries of our Faith? Beach Clean Up 20 October 2019

On the 20th October the Passionist Family Group organised a beach cleanup and sausage sizzle down at the New Brighton domain. An estimated 60 people from around the diocese of Christchurch turned up on a warm day. Between these people and Meridian Energy’s volunteers who were doing another area approximately 1 tonne of rubbish was collected. A huge thanks to everyone who came along to help out. Thanks to your hard work there is less rubbish in the estuary. Also a big thanks to the Meridian volunteers who kindly took the rubbish away for us.

Totara Passionist Family Group indoor bowling

On the 20th October the Totara family group organized an indoor bowling game followed by a pot luck dinner. As they were a few people short they invited members of other family groups. Everyone who attended had a great time and the food was wonderful. A huge thanks to the members of the Totara group for organizing this event.

PFG Bake and Plant Sale

On Sunday 16th September the Passionist Family Groups held a bake and plant sale after 10am mass. A big thanks goes to all who contributed baking and plants and for all who helped out. Because of you this was a hugely successful event with very little left over at the end.

Passionist Family Group – Indian Cooking Class

On the 19th August 23 parishioners met in the Bishop Joyce Centre to learn how to make proper Butter Chicken.   A big thanks to Peter for running this and to everyone who attended. I hope you enjoyed the relaxing afternoon and the great food. As Peter promised it was the best Butter Chicken we have ever tasted.
